SIGN-OUT PROCEDURES, CURFEW EXTENSIONS, & STUDENT TRAVEL PERMISSIONS
Below you will find some instructions which have been written out regarding sign-out procedures while residing on campus. Also for your convenience and information, a video has been created which provides a step-by-step walkthrough of the ins and outs of signing out. Please click this link to view the video.
Sign-out Procedures
Each and every time your student leaves campus he/she MUST sign out (i.e. even when leaving with an adult—parent, CC, or teacher—or simply traveling down 9th or Broad Streets)
The sign-out procedure is fairly straightforward—
Each student will register for a LiveSafe mobile account with their NCSSM email address via a mobile device (e.g. smartphone or tablet)
They will then sign out when they leave campus via the LiveSafe mobile app. on a smartphone or tablet by signing into their account and submitting a check-out ticket which should include their destination, companion(s), and expected return date/time.
If your student will be traveling beyond a 30 mile radius of campus, will be missing a curfew, or off campus over night, we ask that a parent/guardian sign them out at a CC office.
Parents/guardians must submit the online Student Permission Form at least 48 hours in advance when a student will be off campus overnight, will miss curfew, or will be traveling beyond a 30 mile radius of campus AND picked up by someone other than a custodial guardian.
***Please remember that it is only necessary to complete and submit the online Student Permissions Form if your student will be off campus overnight, will miss a curfew, or will be traveling beyond a 30 mile radius of campus AND picked up by someone other than a custodial parent/guardian.
Online Student Permissions Form
In an effort to simplify the permission forms for families regarding overnight sign out, curfew extensions, or travel beyond a 30 mile radius of campus, we have established an electronic form. CCs will call parent/guardians to confirm receipt of the form and the information included. We do ask that you use the electronic form for each overnight trip, curfew extension, or trip beyond 30 miles of campus that does not include the student’s parent/guardian. We ask that you submit the form at least 48 hours in advance.
