Community Coordinator

Randall Spence

My name is Randall Spence and I will be your Community Coordinator for 2nd East this year. I am originally from Roanoke Rapids, NC, located in the northeastern part of the state.

I earned a B.A. in Criminology from NCSU and a M.A. in Sociology from ECU. I have worked as a counselor, program director, and a museum director. I am excited to apply what I have learned to my position here at NCSSM as your Community Coordinator!

I am an Eagle Scout and have volunteered with the Boy Scouts for over twenty years. I have also been highly involved with 4-H programming for just over a decade. For recreation, I enjoy music, reading, and have been known to dabble in cinematography occasionally.

I look forward to meeting all of you and beginning a wonderful and exciting academic year here at NCSSM!

"“What’s up everyone! My name is Nathaniel Joy (He/Him/His) I’m really excited to be one of your RLA’s this year on 2nd East!

I’ve lived in North Carolina my whole life. I’m from a small town in Rockingham county, so I’m a huge fan of southern style cooking! Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, astronomy, learning about missing persons cases, playing Magic The Gathering, watching horror series, watching Sci-fi shows, and hanging out with my loved ones! I’m also a huge fan of tea so if you ever need a cup feel free to ask!

I’m so excited to be able to serve y’all this year as an RLA! Feel free to come to me for anything you need! I’m always willing to listen and give advice if needed! Go 2nd East!"

"Hi everyone! I'm Andy (he/him/his) and I am thrilled to be one of your 2E RLAs for this year!

I'm from Winston-Salem. I have endless interests, which are (but not limited to): traveling to new places, photography, biology, robotics, food and building cool projects.

Carter Lovelady

"Hey y’all! I’m Carter Lovelady (he/him/his) and I’m super excited to be one of your RLA’s on Second East this year!

Some of my hobbies include Ultimate Frisbee, Quiz Bowl, and watching sports (Go Heels!). I’m originally from Virginia but moved to Chapel Hill when I was 5. I help run the video broadcast with the Durham Bulls, so if you’re ever at a game say hi!
