Quinn Barbaza

Hey y’all!

My name is Quinn Barbaza (he/him/his) and I’m excited to be working with everyone in Second East! I grew up in Durham, NC, barely a block away from the NCSSM campus. I love my hometown and I’m looking forward to helping students get acclimated to Durham. If you ever need a recommendation for local art or good food, I’m your guy.

I earned a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame. I am a writer and my interests primarily revolve around community and healthy relationships, leading me to work in campus housing, campus rec, and for the City of Durham.

When I’m not working or writing, I enjoy all things books, sports, and arts. I’m an avid college football fan (Go Irish!), I write for a local newsletter on theater and arts, I sing and play piano, and I run several D&D campaigns. Most of my days are fueled by coffee and music.

"What’s up everyone! My name is Nathaniel Joy (He/Him/His) I’m really excited to be one of your RLA’s this year on 2nd East!

I’ve lived in North Carolina my whole life. I’m from a small town in Rockingham county, so I’m a huge fan of southern style cooking! Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, astronomy, learning about missing persons cases, playing Magic The Gathering, watching horror series, watching Sci-fi shows, and hanging out with my loved ones! I’m also a huge fan of tea so if you ever need a cup feel free to ask!

I’m so excited to be able to serve y’all this year as an RLA! Feel free to come to me for anything you need! I’m always willing to listen and give advice if needed! Go 2nd East!"

I'm from Winston-Salem. I have endless interests, which are (but not limited to): traveling to new places, photography, biology, robotics, food and building cool projects.

Carter Lovelady

"Hey y’all! I’m Carter Lovelady (he/him/his) and I’m super excited to be one of your RLA’s on Second East this year!

Some of my hobbies include Ultimate Frisbee, Quiz Bowl, and watching sports (Go Heels!). I’m originally from Virginia but moved to Chapel Hill when I was 5. I help run the video broadcast with the Durham Bulls, so if you’re ever at a game say hi!
